MG Hector Sharp MT Ownership Comment: 14,000 kilometers in one year | BHP Billiton Team

BHPian mayankk recently shared this with other fans.

I bought a Hyundai Tucson 2k5 from circa 2013.

In 2016, NGT determined that my money and my car made the child sick rather than burning crops or industries. She was included in the first "write-off" diesel vehicle list. The only list. So, since 2016, what I didn’t know was that I drove a deregistered car and got comprehensive insurance every year to participate in PUC (it was indeed reflected on the Internet). At that time, if I had an accident, I would not get a penny of help. In fact, once my insurance company rejected my claim, I would be sued.

When I was looking for a buyer in a designated area in Uttar Pradesh, I found all of this when I got the NOC from the Delhi RTO. So, I have no choice but to scrap this old girl. I decided to just hand it over to the MG responsible for all processes.

It's heartbreaking, all of my Hector's delivery photos highlight Tukey's ass, a little guilty attempt. This is long-term ownership.

She is an excellent traveler, taking us through tens of thousands of kilometers of countries. The most memorable is Spiti, where, thanks to 99.5% reliability, and other features that I didn't see in this budget, she made the whole journey more enjoyable.

Now, talk about Hector SUV.

When I first saw this car, I didn't like its appearance. In fact, until I went to the exhibition hall, my perception of it only improved to slightly lower than neutral, but this was only based on the appearance. I don’t believe in driving reports, even on forums, because I know the driving experience is very personal. You should see the commotion when I mentioned Eon as a good handler in the processing thread!

However, all this will change. I own Carnival and Tucson according to my choice. I didn't take any input and bought these two because I like them. Everyone around, especially my wife, has learned to love them. This time, things are different.

Tucson had a breakdown in Lucknow on my way back and had to stay there for a week for repairs. This is the farewell journey of the car, and this incident illustrates this point. After making up my mind, I started buying Storme 4x4. I have very specific requirements. It must be under 3 years old, 4WD, preferably dark. Oh my God, I didn't know it would be a white elephant! I only found one car for sale, but it is owned by the company, I don't believe it. I didn't consider the budget, and even set my filter to 10,000-1.2 million safari parks, but there was no result. Would you believe that I don't even have a chance to test drive?

The reason I want a 4WD is that one day I will visit Spiti again. I gave up this plan and am preparing to accept the black 2wd Storme. However, I decided that I should see some new cars, so one night, my wife and son decided to see a few new cars, Harrier and Selto.

I arrived at the Safdarjung enclave, and the first exhibition hall was MG. I found a parking space in front of it, with a Hector parked in it, and its headlights turned on. These were pointed directly at my car. My son peeked out and saw it on the street. He immediately decided that we must look at the car first, so he wrote.

When we walked in, the hostess greeted us immediately, and immediately assigned us a salesperson. The car we saw was a Hector plus. These people disinfected the entire interior before letting my son in. He is now almost jumping around with his clink. As soon as the door opened, he jumped in, fascinated by the huge touch screen. Then the skylight opened, and after that he and the decision-making power were in my hands.

The plus is not what I am interested in, but I want an ordinary old five-seater with a mid-range car parked in the showroom. Except for the sunroof, without Esim, everything else in this car is the same. If I remember, the odds on the road reached a manageable 17-18 odds. When the child was sitting in the car, I had a rough discussion about cost and financing with the salesperson. These people were very friendly and showed us the proper folder of our quotations and costs.

Next we went to Kia and Tata. In Tata, no one could even talk to us for the first five minutes. After many follow-ups, a person came over and took us to the back and showed us a harrier. Unexpectedly, he wasn't even sure about the variant, and he didn't know what was missing in the showroom. The worst part is that when we asked them if they could spray the interior with disinfectant, everyone knew nothing. In the end, they sprayed the interior to the industrial level, and after another 10 minutes, when we were able to sit inside without suffocating, the first impression was very poor. This is a car that costs me about 22 lacs, and it is obviously inferior in terms of quality and equipment. My son doesn't like it at all.

For Kia, a similar story to Tata, the one they parked in the showroom is a basic variant, and no one wants to show us. Finally, a person showed up and told me that they had a top specification, but it was sold, which is why a basic variant was parked in the showroom. Unfortunately, it is not the variant that disappoints us, but the sheer cramp of the car.

Another point is that neither Tata nor Kia provided any contact information or any paperwork related to costs or financing options. I hope Tata can do this, not Kia. complacent?

In any case, we left the showroom and 50% of the people decided to choose Hector, financially willing. We still go to the TD car. The Delhi showroom did not respond to us for the next two days. After that, I contacted MG Noida. A very good salesperson, Manoj, arranged a long test drive on the same day. We drove Hector, my wife and I on the highway and Ninoida highway, and were very satisfied. It is very comfortable, compliant and easy to operate. This time my son is fascinated by speech recognition. In his mind, he has decided that his Hector has a skylight, "Hello MG" and "shiny".

We discussed financial issues with MG and decided that we could buy Sharp Hybrid because my wife's employer provided a very feasible financing option. I brushed the car for 21k and ordered a black one, and promised to deliver Dhanteras within one month.

For the next two weeks, we happily walked away and sat quietly, that was when a guy from MG Noida named Amit decided to make the whole experience worse. He is from Manoj, the salesperson's boss. First, he called me and told me that there was a black one and asked us to pay the full price, and he could give us the car. Manoj and I checked and were told that they had made a request on our behalf, so I told Amit that I would wait for my car. He still insisted on paying in full. Next, he called me at the end of October and said that my car was on the road and I should pay immediately. I told him that I have paid the reservation amount and I will pay after PDI at the depot. This is when things get completely bad. He told me that I should pay immediately, otherwise if someone pays with the same request, he will release the car. I asked him if he couldn't hold the car for a day, and he said no. I gave up, told him that he could sell it to anyone he wanted, then hung up, and then I sent a message to Manoj and cancelled my reservation. This made the ball roll, and I immediately received a screenshot of a logistics invoice showing a car assigned in my name leaving the factory. But I don't want to deal with these guys anymore.

Now a colleague in my office used to sell cars. When he heard about this problem, he pulled some lines. I received a call from MG Lajpat Nagar, saying that there is a black sharp hybrid car. After half an hour, I got the VIN and arranged a PDI. The sales clerk Keshav drove the credit card machine to pick up the 50,000 predetermined amount. A few days later, he drove me to Xenike Farm to show me the car. This experience is consistent with my first experience at MG, and I decided to treat Noida dealers as an UP effect. I received my booking amount about a month after the car landed home.

On the road, the car came to 19.1 L. Among them, I only got a discount of 20k, plus Tucson's scrap value of 25k.

This is very comprehensive for Hector, 5 years per 100,000 kilometers. In addition, I am considering adopting one of the protection plans, which will also cover the cost of all services and consumables for 5 years.

gasoline. Sharp Hybrid. This is the manual gasoline version of the top specification. Fortunately, I hate cars.

I have owned this car for less than a week, and everything about it so far has been fascinating. The surprisingly best thing is the stereo. The speakers based on infinity are amazing, and the accompanying subwoofer and amplifier remind me of Zen in college. So far, this is a cycle of Rammstein, RATM and Megadeth, and I have always liked it.

ISOFIX, airbags, ABS, EBD, 360-degree cameras are all good. I have been driving steadily. This is such a relaxing place.

Kilometers at the time of writing a review

Although the main purpose is for my 10km round trip to the office, we will not let go of any excuses. Any place worth going is worth the long journey.

The appearance design is clever and high-quality. If only the tires can be upgraded, it will become a very butch SUV, not between SUV and UV.

Overall build quality, installation and surface treatment, paint quality and panel clearance.

In this regard, I cannot praise MG. The panel gaps are consistent, everything feels durable, even paint.

The wheels are very detailed, but their size can be done through rework.

All plastics are very high-quality in terms of feel and sound. There are also large pieces of vinyl, piano black and silver inserts, all of which are very tasteful

The front seats are very beautiful, but there is a quirk, that is, every time you get in the car, you will hit a raised edge. I have a feeling that this may wear out as the years go by.

The seat fits my frame. I have taken a long-distance bus and I am definitely not tired when I get out. Space is one of the things this car excels at when it comes to spades and potatoes. Our family is all medium-height people, with a maximum of 5'-8" and a lot of space. The tilt of the rear seat is perfect. You can remove the headrest on the passenger seat and tilt it completely. The same is true for the seat, it becomes a chaise longue/bed. I have managed to catch a lot of little goats in the car like this.

The front and rear center armrests are large enough and luxurious. There is no scramble for elbow space here.

The driving position can be adjusted according to the moon and back. Only the driver's seat is electrically adjustable on all three axes. Correct positioning is easy, but the lack of memory means it must be fixed every time someone else takes her to rotate.

ORVMS is very large, but it is a bit inconvenient to adjust the position of the switch. It is behind the indicator rod on the bulkhead instead of on the door like my previous car. Another quirk: this is the only car I've driven where the side indicator can be seen from the inside. The master of Hector will understand what I mean.

Oh, the effect is okay. I found that the best way is to let it run in Auto mode for half an hour, it sometimes reaches its maximum value, and then put it in 2 or 3. The rear air-conditioning vents were initially a bit insufficient, but once the car cooled down, everything was fine.

I think some effects are lost due to the huge skylight, which is essentially just a thick cloth covering inside. Compared with an all-metal roof with a complete roof cladding inside, it will inevitably transfer a lot of heat inside.

This is Hector's party work. The Infinity audio system is equipped with an amplifier and woofer in the luggage compartment. It will be heavy if you want, while parakeets elsewhere are sharp. I am not an enthusiast, but it is far beyond any of my needs. I occasionally want to yell at a Rammstein/RATM/Metallica number, so far I have not been disappointed by the bad music.

In addition to the lack of a good place to put the phone, there is more than enough. Except for any other gadgets, each door pocket has space for a bottle. It's also quite big. The central armrest also has a larger storage unit.

The boots are slightly smaller than my Tucson's, but there is no complaint. Two large suitcases or 4 medium-sized suitcases, as well as three laptop bags and some plastic bags for small items. The boots are also covered, so so is the privacy.

The only purpose of the engine on this car is to get you from point A to point B. It's a, ahem, clumsy Hector, who doesn't like being pushed. However, when defeated, it can easily allow you to adapt well to the situation. When you want to quickly overtake or escape, the hybrid assist system is very convenient. It looks small on paper, but it does provide the necessary help.

Once the engine strode forward, it was great. It is quiet, stable and stress-free on the highway. Put it on a cruise ship at one hundred o'clock, and it just passed. So far, the longest one I have used is from Delhi to Lucknow. I have not found any lack of it.

The clutch is soft and easy to use, and the shifting is very smooth and precise.

I haven't noticed too much. It is very quiet on the asphalted surface, but it does make some noise on the concrete. However, this is true of any car, and so is Tucson.

11 are in the city, and 14-15 are mixed with 10%-90% of urban highways. Calculated tank to tank.

Hector is made purely for comfort, so the spring is very soft. The semi-circular hump found in the apartment building is indeed disturbing, but other than that, it is just a soft and soft journey. When I went to Lansdowne, I came across a mottled asphalt about 30 kilometers long. For the first 3 to 4 kilometers, I stepped on it with my feet and drove slowly, bypassing the bumps. However, because it was getting dark, I decided to move on. Between 40-50 km/h, I can feel the suspension working, but there is not even vibration in the cabin. In fact, my son fell asleep a few minutes after I decided to speed up. Speaking of its weight, it is true.

I will avoid this situation. It is planted enough and has good grip, even if the tires are not very good (good year guarantee). This is not a car that explores the boundaries of grip, stability, roll, etc.

The turning circle is the same as the safari park before the storm. Naf said.

Adequate. I worried a few times that it might hit some rocks or bumps, but it never happened. I am more confident now, but the front and rear overhangs are very large. Must be careful. Tucson is a point and shooting car. Without the driver's consideration, it can overcome almost any problem. Here, I have to comment.

The light is very bright, but it tends to be dimmed when encountering any resistance

The clanging sound of the front suspension directly came from the stockyard. Some misaligned bushings were found and repaired within the first month, and there was contact between metal parts during sudden and abrupt road changes. It's like a broken road. It was discovered and repaired by MG in time.

MG can eat cakes here. Pulsehub email ID allows your reseller to take immediate action.

I have adopted the Shield plan or other 16k plans. Obviously, I will not have any fees for the first 5 services. Second, this is an actual service that will appear soon, so I will update you when I can.

There are not many detailed pictures so far, I will add as many functions and angles as possible.

All in all, so far, I enjoy ownership. The blockade paid off immediately for travel after purchase. However, since things opened up, I have managed to time 14,000 kilometers in the car, and they are very interesting. Having been in the mountains, on the highway, Hector is a very good traveler.

My only complaint right now is that this car is irreparable.

Therefore, I set my sights on the previous generation Thar, I can basically throw it anywhere as an auxiliary car.

As a petrol head, the biggest compliment I can express to Hector is that I find myself planning more and more trips that can be completed within 10 hours of driving from Delhi instead of flying to any other destination.
